“Inspired By Savannah” blog LOVES Hug-A-Bib & Clippy Cloth

I love it when people write to me telling me how they love their Hug-A-Bib baby bib and Clippy Cloth burp cloth. I love it even more when they blog about it!! Robin the host of “Inspired by Savannah” wrote an amazing and wonderful review of my products.

Here is a part of the review:

“I just fell in love with the Hug-A-Bib upon arrival. Just look at the cute little bear above and the saying.  And, after reading all about Lorri’s products on her website, I couldn’t wait to try them out for myself with Savannah.  Savannah looked so cute in the bib.  And, I couldn’t believe how absorbent this bib was.  Like I said in a previous post, we are trying to teach Savannah how to hold her own bottle, and as a result are going through a few outfits a days, as she would much prefer Mommy and Daddy to hold it for her.  She likes to chew on the nipple, which makes the formula dribble out and soak through her other bibs, onto her clothes.  But, not with the Hug-A-Bib.  I can place this bib on her and not worry about having to change her outfit afterwards.

And, because she has bouts of acid reflux, I need to make sure she burbs, especially at night.  If not, she is will get fussy, or will spit up her formula a short time later. The Clippy Cloth is a great product.  It is easy it use, as it simply attaches to your shirt with a clip.  I love how the Clippy Cloth lays flat, covering the front of you, as well as over the shoulder.  When Savannah gets fussy and doesn’t feel like giving a burp, she eventually either spits up on the front of my shirt, or manages to cover my back with spit up.  Not anymore.  Now with the Clippy Cloth, I have extra protection and coverage.  And, I don’t have to worry about it slipping off my shoulder when I adjust Savannah.”

Thank you Robin!

My First Australian Fan!

Becca, Felix’s mother, wrote “LOVE LOVE LOVE the bib – it’s the only one Felix can’t pull off and he doesn’t fight me when I put it on like ordinary over the head bibs. It washes so easily and after being used for months, the velcro is still like new! Hug-a-bib is my bib of choice! Now that he’s crawling, it still stays put and his clothes stay dribble free.”

Wow!! I am glad I ship Hug-A-Bib and Clippy Cloth worldwide! (especially to Canberra, Australia)

How Hug-A-Bib baby bibs & Clippy Cloth burp cloths came to be…

Like all mother I always wanted the best for my babies.

My youngest daughter, Allea, was born with what the doctors called an “underdeveloped stomach valve”. This meant that when she ate, half of what she ate would come back up again. It wasn’t a terrible thing, but, with her constantly spitting up, I was doing laundry every day. No matter how hard I tried, it seemed that the second she started spitting up her baby bib moved or folded back on itself so everything would land right on her clean clothes. The only way to stop this from happening was to devise a way to keep the bib in place. The baby bibs available on the market only fastened around the neck, or were a full body garment and so huge and bulky it was like she was wearing a second set of clothes. I wanted something that was less cumbersome, but still afforded great coverage and would not move on the baby. A bib that would truly protect the clothing. I started making my own bibs for her, first with ties, then with Velcro. As she grew up and I concentrated on raising my 2 girls and working, those early days became not much more than fond memories.

Years later I was cleaning out a dresser drawer and found one of the bibs I had made for her. Watching a mother struggle with her little one in the lobby of my office, I realized that all mothers could use this baby bib, that there was a huge need for it. With advances in materials and Velcro-like products I could produce a baby bib that would be like no other both in quality and functionality!

I knew what I wanted. Now I wanted to know what other mothers wanted. I spoke to mothers, fathers, grandparents, teachers, day-care centers and any other caregivers I could find. Everyone wanted the same things: a high-quality, soft, waterproof baby bib that would stay
in place on the infant and toddler. I took all their suggestions and incorporated them into the new and improved Hug-A-Bib baby bib.

During one of my many discussions on my baby bib design, I was told that I needed a ‘line’. I decided to make the burp cloth I always wanted. So I designed the “Clippy Cloth” an oversized, plush, absorbent, waterproof cloth that uses a clip to attach it to the shoulder of the clothing the parent or caregiver is wearing, keeping it in place. I made it longer front and back so it can be used on either shoulder with equal coverage. It is the perfect compliment to the Hug-A-Bib.

I am currently working on larger sizes of the Hug-A-Bib for special needs kids and the elderly.

Welcome to my world!

Bibsy Bear arrived!

5000 stuffed bears were delivered today.  252 boxes.  They filled 3/4 of one semi.  I had to rent another storage room.  I called my daughter and got her and some of her friends and a family friend and his 2 sons to come help unload alllllllll the boxes.  You would have loved it.  We set up a bucket brigade from the semi into the office.  My friend Heather took a video with her phone.  I will try to get it and upload it for you all to laugh at.

The truck driver was from just north jof Etobicoke, Ontario (where I am from originally) so when we were finished I took him (and the kids) out for some Michigan coney islands….hot dogs with chili, mustard and onions.  Had him get a regular coney and a loose.  I love the saganaki (opa) so we got a couple of those too.  He really liked it all.  I think we have another convert to coneys!!  He mentioned his daughter collects stuffed bears so I sent him on his way to his next stop in Chicago with a Bibsy Bear just for her.

I must say they are awesome!!

In celebration I put my “threesome” on sale.  Now you can get the bear (and he is HUGE), the bib AND the burp for only $30.  What a great baby gift.

Now its time to watch some NCIS and wind down.  Have a great evening everyone!
